Where to Celebrate Pride in Philadelphia This Weekend
Philadelphia is destined to get loud, proud, and full of color this weekend, because Philly Pride lands once again in our fair city.
It all kicks off this Friday with a 600-foot Pride flag being paraded through the city. The flag will make stops at some of Philly’s most iconic spots, including the Art Museum at 9AM and City Hall for a big flag raising at 2PM. Then at 8PM, it all comes together with a glowing moment in the heart of the Gayborhood. It’s free, it’s citywide, and it’s an amazing way to start the weekend.
Saturday night, you’ll want to get dressed up and head to the Philadelphia Museum of Art for the Pride Promenade & L.U.V. Awards. Think of it as prom, but actually fun and with way better outfits. This 21+ event brings out some incredible performances and celebrates leaders in the LGBTQ+ community with the Legacy, Unity, and Visibility (L.U.V.) awards. If you love a reason to dress up and celebrate community, this is your moment. Tickets range from $50–$100.
But the pièce de résistance comes at you this Sunday, when the Philly Pride March & Festival takes over. The march steps off at 11AM from 6th and Walnut, and winds its way through Center City before landing in the Gayborhood for a full-day festival that runs until 7PM. We’re talking entertainment zones everywhere, each with a unique vibe. Want iconic Pride anthems? Head to the Legacy Zone. Looking for a dance floor? The Visibility Zone is for you. There’s also a Unity Zone filled with drag and community talent, a Relaxed Zone with more low key music and lounging space, a Sapphic Zone centered on queer women performers, and even an Everyone Zone with fun for all ages.
When you’re eventually in need of a moment to yourself, there’ll be sober spaces, sensory-friendly areas, and more than 200 vendors and community organizations to explore while you recharge and rehydrate.
Come as you are, bring the energy, and celebrate what makes this city’s LGBTQ+ community so strong, vibrant, and beautifully unstoppable.
